Another FYI: I installed only 4 components of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), all to the SD card. Shortly after, Windows Update downloaded a slew of Office-related updates for the entire suite, like Outlook, that I didn't install. Windows created a WUDownloadsCache folder on the SD card which I assume is to where updates are now downloaded, not sure where installed... and I've done the Windows drive cleanups thoroughly, I'm down to 8.01 GB free space. I hope REO51ST will note I provided the model# 13-c010nr so that he might advise the suitability  of my Stream 13 for the proposed hardware tweak, & further advise if the additional memory would be more useful for O/S use, or no more useful than simply using an SD card. Thanks again, Den

According to this YouTube video, Windows can be installed and booted from a Wifi slot mounted SSD card, apparently the boot order is changed to select the "Network Boot Group" device first.

Although, taking a second look, one of the comments stated the procedure does not work so apparently your mileage can vary.
