My maiden questions. I declare that I am a long term Dell and Ubuntu user.
A family member (I am the oldtimer) has an HP All-In-One in use for some years. Reports white screen (of death?). My research from afar indicates update drivers. But how to update drivers if user cannot enter Windows 10 due to wsod?
A second question. Since it seems difficult to break open this HP assembly to change internal drive I am planning to pay a visit to add a USB 3 connected external drive with Ubuntu 22.04 pre-installed from my Dell dual boot setup. Using rEFInd. Then attach to HP USB 3 port to boot into external Ubuntu 22.04. Is partitioning MBR or GPT (UEFI)?
Or even to use a Rufus created LiveUSB for recovery.
Hopefully I will be in a diagnostic position to inspect the innards of the OEM drive with white screen Windows inside the HP All-In-One. At least that is the theory. Although if this is a driver upgrade I might expect the same white screen with Ubuntu.
I intend to leave it working in dual boot mode. Windows 10 and co OS Ubuntu 22.04.
So in this maiden post please advise on clearing this reported white screen of death obstacle. Is there some BIOS option to learn to update drivers? How to access BIOS on booting? F2, F10?

Can I download HP drivers into my Dell mothership and ship to the ailing HP All-In-One) and upload into HP OEM drive (if I know where to place drivers)?
Or how to upgrade using HP Support Assistant?

Apart from a few Workstations that come with Linux distro preloaded, HP provides no support for Linux.
I mention this because with Windows, we can provide links to videos and HP Documents. We can provide links to HP diagnostic apps you can download and run on your PC. We can provide links to HP drivers and to HP BIOS updates, which you can also download and run on your PC. And, nearly everything useful can be done using an application or utility that HP will provide you for free.
For the general population of HP customers trying to use or install Linux, we have NONE of that. No diagnostics. No videos. No downloadable utilities or tools. And, once you get into Linux, you discover that you have to become VERY familiar with the command line to do anything complicated. We have no command line scripts or examples to provide you.
So when I recommend going to the support forum for your Linux distro, it is because THERE is where you will get the amount and kind of support you need.

I am most surprised that there is little information on:
- While screen of death troubleshooting
- Dual Boot Windows and Ubuntu
I see that this old post went unanswered.
When you write:

I have been “THERE” for more than a decade dual booting between Ubuntu and (lesser interest) Windows 10.
I don't need all the HP documents you refer to.
I asked how to help a non-technical remote family member (with a hand down old HP All-In-One) could be remotely advised by this old codger on how to recover from White Screen of Death - if Windows cannot be started.
It seems that this will be an interesting challenge.

It seems that I will have to break open this HP box to get into the harddrive and repair with my own SSD.
Or ditch it and buy Dell.

General HP population - arise - have no fear of Linux/Ubuntu. Avoid malware attacks, avoid having to pay through the nose for Window apps.
If I manage to breathe life into this tired old remote HP box I will post here again.
