@nicolas_nqn, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The ITEM0015 error in the HP Cloud Recovery Tool usually indicates a problem with downloading or verifying recovery files. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and also attempt recovery from your E: Recovery partition.
Solution 1: Try HP Cloud Recovery Again
Check Your Internet Connection
- Ensure you have a stable and fast connection.
- Try switching to a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.
- If using a VPN, disable it.
Run HP Cloud Recovery Tool as Administrator
- Right-click on the HP Cloud Recovery Tool and select Run as administrator.
Use a Different USB Drive
- Sometimes, the USB drive might be causing the issue.
- Try using a different 16GB or larger USB drive.
- Format it as FAT32 before running the tool again.
Manually Download Recovery Media
- You can try downloading the recovery image manually from HP Cloud Recovery Tool
Solution 2: Use the Built-in Recovery Partition (E:)
If your E: Recovery partition is still intact, you can use it to restore your laptop.
Method 1: HP Recovery Manager (If Available)
- Search for "HP Recovery Manager" in the Windows Start Menu.
- Open it and choose "Restore your system to factory settings".
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Method 2: Using Windows Recovery
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to enter the Startup Menu.
- Press F11 to open HP Recovery Mode.
- Select "Troubleshoot" > "Recovery Manager".
- Choose "Restore to factory condition".
Method 3: Using Command Prompt (If F11 Doesn’t Work)
- Boot into Windows Recovery by holding Shift while clicking Restart.
- Go to Advanced options > Command Prompt.
- Type the following command and press Enter: reagentc /boottore
- Restart your laptop, and it should boot into HP Recovery Mode.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
