Hi @RC0702

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry your system is experiencing such widespread hardware failures—when multiple components like touchscreen, touchpad, Wi-Fi, USB ports, and audio all stop working together, it’s deeply disruptive. You’ve done everything right by checking Device Manager and noting the Code 10 errors.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to help restore functionality.

Step-by-step actions to recover from I2C HID and Cirrus Logic Code 10 errors

1. Perform a full embedded controller reset

This clears low-level power states that may be blocking device initialization.

  1. Power off the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the charger and all peripherals.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the charger only (leave battery disconnected if removable).
  5. Power on the laptop and check if any devices respond.

This helps reset the I2C controller and USB power rails.

2. Boot into HP UEFI diagnostics

This checks for hardware-level faults before Windows loads.

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Power it on and immediately press Esc, then F2.
  3. Run:
    • Component Tests > Touchscreen
    • Component Tests > Wireless Module
    • Component Tests > USB Port Check
    • Component Tests > Audio

Note any error codes or failures—this helps confirm if the issue is hardware or firmware.

3. Update BIOS and chipset drivers

  • Visit: HP Software and Driver Downloads
  • Enter your exact laptop model.
  • Download and install:
    • BIOS Update
    • Intel Chipset Driver
    • Intel Serial IO Driver
    • Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI)

These updates restore communication between the CPU and peripheral controllers.

4. Reinstall I2C HID and audio drivers

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Human Interface Devices and Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. Right-click I2C HID Device and Cirrus Logic Audio, then select Uninstall device.
  4. Restart the laptop.

Windows will attempt to reinstall the drivers automatically.

5. Check Windows Power Management settings

  1. In Device Manager, right-click I2C HID Device > Properties.
  2. Go to the Power Management tab.
  3. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  4. Repeat for USB Root Hub entries under Universal Serial Bus controllers.

This prevents devices from being disabled during startup.

Let me know what you observe after these steps—especially if any devices begin responding after the embedded controller reset or BIOS update. You’ve done everything right by staying persistent—I’ll be here to guide you further if needed.
