Compaq CQ58 power password forgot

I just bought a Compaq CQ58 from a pawn shop. When I power it on it asks for  an administrator password or power on password. It didn't come with that information so I googled it and seen a couple of different multi number password that was suggested to type in. None of those work. When I try three times it comes up with "System Disabled" and gives the numeric code 96623987. How can I bypass this password?

Thank you. That got it. I'm doing a reset on it now. Do I need to go into bios mode and turn off passwords or will it be fine now after the reset?

You're very welcome.

You will probably have to reset/remove the password.

This usually works for most HP consumer notebooks...

Use the unlock code when you want to change the BIOS P/W

If you don't want a password, hit the enter key, and repeat for the confirmation.
