Hello!
I bought HP Laptop two years ago with my college fund money that I had saved by myself. Within a year of buying my laptop, it began to overheat. Luckily, I had a warrantee on it which allowed BestBuy to send it in and fix it.
However, this summer, my laptop began shutting down whenever I moved the screen. For example, when I went to adjust the screen so I could see better, it would completely shut down and delete whatever I was working on (if I hadn't saved it). It then had to reset, and would take 5 minutes minimum to turn on, and even then it was incredibly slow. When I took it to Best Buy again, they told me my warrantee had expired and they had no clue how much it would cost until I sent it in.
I'm a college student, and especially during COVID-19 times, I use my laptop for everything. Even if I had the ability to send my laptop in and still be able to complete my work (the first time our public library was open and I could use the public computers but now that isn't an option), more than likely I wouldn't be able to afford the repair because of all of my college payments (and lack of hours from my jobs because of COVID).
Although it works, I struggle with moving around or even adjusting the screen. Sometimes, if someone even hits the table hard enough, my laptop will turn off, usually deleting whatever I was working on. This has been incredibly frustrating, especially because my laptop is only 2 years old, and I don't have the money for a new one. Due to my laptop constantly malfunctioning throughout the brief time that I had it, I was wondering if I had any options at this point?
