HP Pavilion 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have less than year old laptop.

When I bought it, it had Windows 8 in it and started showing blue screen of death after few months. Upgrading to Windows 10 fixed this problem but now I have new problem that has lasted for months!

Whatever I do, use Internet (mainly Firefox), use Office Word, read PDF's... it suddenly just stop working. Mouse still moves but it doesn't respond or responds very slowly. I can't shut down any ongoing programs and only option is to shut computer by pressing power button. Second time I open it, it works just fine.

So what is wrong with my computer?

I have F-Secure virus detection and did check it, no viruses of any kind. No errors in hard drive either.

It has 8,0 Gt RAM memory, about 5,0Gt is free.

CPU is AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, 2000 Mhz, 4 cores.

Hi Kriss,

When you get blue screen of death, its usually a sign of your 1) Hard Drive giving up or 2) RAM giving up.

1. You can run defrags to help to see if your Hard Drive is giving up on you, here are some tips.

2. you can do RAM check

if this is still under warranty and you still get the probelm after defrag and RAM check is ok, you can get those replaced 🙂

Hi

If I understand correctly it is Word opening a PDF, and then causing problems?

Perhaps try another PDF piece of software to open a .pdf and then edit it.  There are viewers also available.

If in doubt please ask.
