I realize that HP does not officially support Windows 11 to start with.  I have everything working after upgrading the TPM module and BIOS.  There are no errors showing up in Device Manager but when I run Windows updates, it updated all the security updates as expected but I have one device that it keeps failing to install.  It tries to install Conexant -Media with a 7/3/2018 date.  I have tried resetting the update folders and all the other tricks along with trying to hide the update but everything has failed to resolve the error.  I am not sure that it will prevent future needed updates or not at this point.  Has anyone had any luck getting past this?Update failure.png

If everything is working properly, you can run the Microsoft Hide Windows Update Utility that I have zipped up and attached below, which should find the update that won't install, and it will hide it thus clearing up your Windows update program.

Download, unzip and run the attached file.

It should find the update that won't install.

Check the box to hide the update.

The utility will run again and report the problem is 'Fixed,'

Close out of the utility, restart the notebook, go to Windows update and click on the 'Retry' option until the update no longer appears.

Then run the windows update utility again and check to make sure it doesn't appear again (which it shouldn't).

That actually did work.  I must have not gone through all the steps the first time I tried "hiding" the update.  This time it seems to have worked.  Apprecitate the help with the resolution.

You're very welcome.

I have that utility saved on every one of my PC's because I have used it more than once to stop stuff like that from happening.
