Hi all, I recently installed a 1TB NVMe in addition to the regular 2.5 1TB HDD that my laptop came with. I was wondering, is there a way to copy the partition into my new NVMe hard drive? I'm looking at formatting the original HDD drive but don't want to lose the Recovery partition.

Basically, no.
If you were to "image" the original HP drive to a new drive, such that the partitions were in the same order and same sizes as the original, then "copying" the Recovery partition would work -- as I have done this successfully.
But simly copying the same partition to a new drive does not work, as it appears the partition has a fixed location that can not be changed and still have it work.

Depends on what you're intending to do.
In my case, I uses Macrium Reflect to clone an aging HDD to an SDD of the same capacity -- meaning, the same partitions, of the same size, starting in the same locations.
So, while you could certainly use Clonezilla to clone an entire disk (as I have done this on my Linux distros), once again, it would have to be the same partitions, of the same size, starting in the same location. So, using to simply clone a partition to a different disk most likely, would not work.

Hmm thanks, I ended up being able to use recovery partition on my HDD to install on my NVMe SSD so I guess the partition is better off on HDD as I don't really intend to use it much anyway haha. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
