Hi.
I am trying to make a factory reset (reset the whole PC)... but I am getting the error message "Could not find the recovery environment".
Would be grateful if somebody here could advise.

Hi @Igge1967,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP model are you using?
  • Are you running Windows 10 or Windows 11?
  • Did you make any changes recently, such as deleting partitions or installing updates?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Verify Recovery Partition

  • Open Disk Management (Windows + X → Disk Management) and check if there’s a recovery partition listed. If it’s missing, that explains the error.

Use HP Recovery Manager

  • On many HP systems, pressing F11 repeatedly at startup should launch HP Recovery Manager. Try this to see if the recovery environment loads.

Alternative Options

  • If the recovery partition is missing or corrupted, you may need to use HP Cloud Recovery Tool or a Windows installation USB to reinstall the operating system.

I hope this helps.
