I've had this laptop for a few years now and I tend to pick it up and move it around by one hand, that hasn't been an issue until recently when I accidentally cracked it... The warranty has long expired and so far my laptop is working perfectly fine but I was still concerned about this crack. Will it be okay? Is it something I need to worry about???

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP Community Forums!

I'm not popular here because, as a Systems Engineer, I went out of my way to provide information that was Technically correct, not Politically correct, and sometimes, that information was negative. This is one of those times.

I don't do this to offend; instead, I do this because you have a right to know the REAL situation, even if that is disheartening.

ANY crack has the tendency to spread and yours is no different.  I recently "repaired" a cracked All-in-One screen using SuperGlue and week later, the cracks have not spread at all.

This is how I did it:

1) Purchase a SuperGlue that was in gell form

2) Spready the glue along the crack

3) Let it dry for two days -- yours might be longer. Put the glue on once, let it dry, then add a second coat.  The crack must be completely filled for this to worik.

4) Take a windshield scraper (requires a very sharp steel blade) and carefully scrape off the surface of the glue.  Since this is plastic case, be careful NOT to scrape off the surface of the case.  IF you don't mind seeing the glue, then do not bother with this step.

Apart from paying a FORTUNE to get the case replaced, this is about all you can do.
