Prebook 4540S
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Running Windows 7 Pro.  Tried to generate a Windows recovery/install disk from Recovery Disk Creator from the program menu.   It gave me the choice of creating a Windows Disk (unspecified version) or HP Drivers disk. I choose Windows disk and inserted a USB flash drive. Create failed with a message about system files. I lost the error message before I could write it down.   Tried to generate the USB drive again, but it won't because I am given only one chance to do this.

Contacted HP Chat Support.  According to Divya, the unit was delivered with Windows 8 which is why I can't generate a Windows Install Disk from the recovery sector.   I'm just trying to generate an ISO from the recovery sector and didn't specify the flavor of Windows.   Any suggestions for how to generate a recovery ISO?

Looking at it more closely, the laptop is labelled Windows 8 Pro so Divya is correct about what was shipped.  Still doesn't explain why I can't generate a USB install disk.
