Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP 17-x037cl is not booting to operation. I thought it would be easy to create the HP Recovery Tool using my Lenovo, then insert the USB Disk in the HP to hopefully boot to the USB. So far what I have on the USB does not boot up the HP.

Help please!!!

@noof

Probably the process is not right, you can use other machine(s) to create boot table USB drive. Please try again using

I was finally able to get to the point where I was creating the USB Tool, but "The recovery creation attempt failed. Please contact HP support and provide the following information: Serial Number W2N00UA#ABA  Error: 0xC00405"

When I did as instructed the indication was my laptop is out of warranty.  I KNEW THAT.

The 32 GB thumb drive I ordered is actually just shy of 30 GB (Kind of pisses me off, but that is here nor there)

Could it be that there is not enough capacity and I need to go to a larger USB Drive and that is the cause of the failure, or does the error code indicate some other issue?

Thanks!!!!

Same failure with a properly formatted 64 GB. No way to attach the log that the process generated to a proper HP Support target location as suggested because I could not find one.  (Support options are not very readily available or I at least I had extreme difficulty finding the proper channel to deal with a catastrophic crash.) I  am glad I am not in critical need of the machine.

After multiple attempts, I have given up and am trashing the laptop.
