Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On 1/12/2021 I successfully installed 2021-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64 Based Systems (KB4598242). Today Windows Update tried to install it again on one machine, while the other machine says it is up to date. This re-installation failed with error code 0x007000d.

It is doing the same thing with an optional update on both machines, a Driver update Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.- Keyboard- Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard for HP Hotkey Support. This successfully installed on both machines on both1/4/2021 and 1/11/2021, but Windows Update wants to install it yet again.

How can I stop Windows from attempting to re-install something it already installed?

I got a direct link for the download, and it worked. This fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.

Hi:

You should be able to run the Hide Windows Update utility from the link below and hide the updates.

Hide Windows Updates or driver updates (microsoft.com)

Actually that is something to do with Microsoft. I've got no problem with that on all 6 machines

I have tried and tried but none of the Microsoft links to download this utility or troubleshooter work. I tried both my laptops, and neither one will connect.
