HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Since my laptop was on its last legs..

(ie. AMD card no working updated drivers, missing drivers for Universal USB controller and PCI device, broken ethernet port Corrupted win installation)

I had to effect a fresh reinstall of win 7 64bit, however hp support drivers do not seem to have all neccessary drivers to get it up and running again.

Any ideas what I can do to locate Universal USB controller and whatever drivers are linked to PCI device and Unkown device?  I dont have anything extra on machine except I added a SSD drive internally, and since ethernet port doesnt work I have a linksys USB to ethernet dongle hanging off a port.

Thanks!

Hi:

You probably need these drivers for the devices you listed...

Universal USB controller:

This package provides the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The driver enables USB 3.0 devices.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55102.exe

PCI Dev:

This package contains the driver that enables the Realtek Card Reader in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The card reader enables users to read from or write to supported removable storage cards, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players, and cellular phones.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55104.exe

Unknown:

This will install HP 3D DriveGuard, which provides protection for a notebook computer's internal disk drive if the computer is accidentally dropped or abruptly hits another object. This package is available on supported notebooks with supported operating systems.

You're very welcome, although you got help from a person like yourself who has no affiliation with HP.
