OMEN by HP Transcend 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-u1000 (8N9K3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I was wondering if adding some decorative stickers voided the warranty on my laptop.

I will only be placing them on the back of the screen but i don't know if it removes the warranty.

Hi @Revermb,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Adding decorative stickers to the back of the screen (lid) of your OMEN by HP Transcend 16-inch Gaming Laptop should generally not void the warranty as long as.

  1. No internal components or hardware modifications are involved.
  2. The stickers do not cause damage to the laptop, such as leaving adhesive residue that impacts the device's functionality or design.
  3. They do not block ventilation or cause overheating, which could lead to performance issues.
  4. You do not remove or cover warranty-related stickers, serial numbers, or barcodes that might be required for servicing or identification.

If any damage is caused by the stickers or during their application/removal, HP may classify it as accidental damage, which might not be covered under standard warranties. However, most cosmetic changes that don't interfere with hardware or functionality should not affect your warranty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
