Long story short, my computer has been running chkdsk after restart without being prompted. Hardware diagnostics were run and hard drive passed everything. Used msconfig to boot in safe mode with networking, chkdsk ran at reboot, it failed, and gave me the option to recover my laptop or power down. I tried recovery, it failed, so I powered down and booted from a usb with the HP Cloud Recovery installed. I successfully ran that and logged in to my laptop again. Now I am in the process of checking everything to make sure that the underlying problem is fixed, or to try to find out what the underlying problem is.

How many partitions should I have after the cloud recovery tool has been used? Does this look strange?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

Unfortunately the image is not clear and I'm unable to view the partitions

You will have 2 main partitions one for your C drive Windows and one for the Recovery Partition
