Disable VMD on hp x360 15-er (os change)

I was trying to install ZimaOs on my laptop but the drive could not be detected because of the Intel VMD controller hiding my drive.

Normally you'd turn this off in the bios but my laptop has no such toggle in the bios.

I checked a bunch of options and secret key binds in the bios to no avail. How can I turn it off to be able to install my preferred OS?

I understand how it can be when you're trying to install a different operating system and the SSD isn't being detected because of the Intel VMD controller, especially after already exploring various BIOS options, dont worry let me check and help you with this.

Could you kindly confirm the below details : 

• Is the SSD visible in the BIOS storage information page?
• Are you receiving any specific error messages during the installation process?
• Have you tried loading Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST/VMD) drivers during the OS installation?

Kindly try the below step and confirm : 

1. Update the BIOS
   • Verify that your notebook is running the latest BIOS version available from HP Support website - https://support.hp.com/ , as some BIOS updates include storage controller improvements.
2. Load Intel IRST Drivers During Installation
   • If the installer cannot detect the drive, download the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) driver package for your model and load the driver manually during the OS installation process.
3. Verify Drive Detection (Link for steps for hardware UEFI test - Click here )
   • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) and confirm that the SSD is detected and passes the storage tests.
