Hi @AniketNav,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Rapid Storage Technology (RST), which is a technology that provides improved performance and reliability for systems that use SATA drives for mass storage.
If you're trying to disable Intel RST in your HP BIOS settings, the steps could vary depending on your specific HP computer model and the BIOS version. Here's a general guideline that you can follow:
- Restart your Computer: Start by restarting your computer and during the boot-up process, press the appropriate key to enter BIOS/UEFI settings. The key could be something like F2, F10, Del, or Esc. The specific key might be mentioned on the HP logo screen during startup.
- Navigate to Storage or SATA Settings: Inside the BIOS/UEFI settings, look for a section related to storage, SATA, or drives. The wording might vary, but it should be related to the storage configuration of your system.
- Look for Intel RST Option: Within the storage settings, check if there's an option related to Intel Rapid Storage Technology. It might be referred to as RST or something similar. If you find such an option, you might be able to disable it from there.
- Disable the Option: Use the keyboard arrows to navigate to the Intel RST option, and then select the option to disable it. This might involve using the "+" or "-" keys, or other navigation keys mentioned in the BIOS interface.
- Save and Exit: After making the changes, save the settings and exit the BIOS/UEFI interface. Your computer will reboot.
It's important to note that not all systems provide an option to disable Intel RST directly from the BIOS/UEFI settings. In some cases, you might need to uninstall the Intel RST software from within your operating system.
Lastly, BIOS settings are crucial and sensitive; make sure you are careful while making changes, as incorrect settings can potentially lead to system instability.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Dear Alden4,
Thank you for your reply. I have disabled the RST in the BIOS settings. My SATA config now shows configured to AHCI. However, when I try and install Ubuntu 22.04 it doesn't detect the change setting, and I still get a screen to disable RST. I haven't been able to disable RST in Windows 11 (sorry for the misinformation, I had said Windows 10 in my previous post).
I tried to follow these steps but have been unsuccessful. ( https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000027232/technologies/intel-rapid-storage-...) .
I really appreciate your help in this matter.
