Not a question although I have the same issue.  I was able to resolve the issue and hope this will help technicians and end users alike. It may be helpful to W10 users as well. Not a problem with Search or SysMain.

 

Go to Task Manager

 

Right Click anywhere in the Disk column (may also help ifor memory)

 

Select Resource Values / Disk / Percents

 

Sort to have high values on top

 

Right click high disk usage application in Name column

 

Select End Task

 

For me it was W10 compatability task and one other, sorry not exact names. 

 

Disk usage is now 1-5%

 

May also work just to end tasks that are writing to disk but this identifies actual high usage tasks accurately
