Until recent updates were installed my system was running perfectly. Some weeks ago I installed a brand new 2Tb SSD which has also been OK. Now, on every power up, my system now runs a scan on my "C" drive. This only takes seconds and never shows any errors but it is infuriating. I noticed this is also happening with various other HP machines although one forum member said his wife and he had identical machines but it only happened on his. Is there a resolution for this?

Wish I had good news for you, but I don't!
I ran into the same situation with a desktop PC. All my PCs have SSDs but they have different brands and sizes. My desktop, which used a Kingston 250GB SSD, started doing just this. Every other boot or so, I would get the disk checking messages -- and it was not always the same partition. It got more frequent over time.
So, since I do full disk images weekly, I took one of the other SSDs (a Crucial), imaged that for my desktop and used it for a few days. No more error messages.
So, I connected the Kingston SSD and used their software to RESET the drive, as this completely reformats it through hardware and does that in a couple of minutes. I then reimaged it and put it back in the desktop. It worked fine for a few weeks but started up again.
I then replaced it with a new Crucial, and months later, I have yet to get the error message again.
Which is a LONG way of saying -- it looks like the drive is failing.

I contacted Microsoft who had me go to CMD mode as an administrator then run
[sfc/scannow]
This takes some time, If any errors occur it will tell you that a reboot will cure it but you can force a fix with
The system file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot.
Now please type this below command and press enter key.
[DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth]
After this was complete I rebooted my laptop and it had fixed the problem.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
Hope this is of some help
