HP 15-BS015DX

Hi there. I have a problem with my PC (15 bs015dx). I did an Hardware Upgrade about 15-16 months ago. I've installed up to 16GB of RAM , a Crucial SSD and changed my keyboard (it was broken). For a period i wanted to try Windows11 (unsupported for my CPU...) but it runs for an year very well. PC starts in 5 seconds, no problems, always reactive, in all situations. Until i've tried to install an oracle program (for college) and...disaster. PC starts slowly, allways problems on startup and so after a few week of cleaning i've decided to make a fresh install.

Since that i've always have problems.

When i do a fresh install the PC is very fast, reactive, no problems until i make the first restart. On a fresh install i can install any program, i've tried to take it on for days, and it is always reactive. When i restart it to take away (after 2-3 times), it becomes a disaster.

  • When it starts up (i've removed all the apps on startup and leaved only defender and audio) i can't do anything, it's not possible to open an app
  • Disk usage is always on 100% for the first 10-15 minutes (sometimes also 30-45 minutes) with maybe 0.2MB/s for the app with more usage (how can it's possible?)
  • After a while it comes back to normal, and starts to be normal and reactive.

I've thinked it could be Win11 unsupported, so i've decided to go back to Win10...worste than ever. after the first 2-3 restart it takes like 1 hour to start up and more and never goes back to normality (only on Win10 sometimes the time is allways 2 hours back too. i've taked a look tothe BIOS and the time it's correct). I've updated the BIOS too.

I can see the problem if i make the windows Update or not, it's the same, on Win 10 or 11.

I've tried to install linux as well. Linux is perfect. It start in few seconds, it does not have any problem with restarts and goes perfect. But i need to use Microsoft Apps for college so now i came back to Win11. i've thinked it could be a driver problem so

  • i've installed intel software update (it found only the graphic driver to upgrade)
  • i've downloade from hp the thermal driver (win10 and 11 doesn't recognized it by itself)

On the Device settings there are no errors. Is there something i can check more? is there any ssd driver or something like that?

Thanks

Hello there! I don't know if can be useful for someone, but i found my solution. Everytime the pc slow down, i have to install the BIOS update again. Always the same BIOS update (the last one) and on the next restart the PC runs smoothly and with high performance...the hack last about 2 weeks and then i have to "update" again...I don't know why but it works for me 😉
