@Anjan_Ryzen, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're unable to adjust the display brightness either through the settings or the function keys on your HP 15s-eq1000 Laptop PC running Windows 11. Let's work through this step-by-step to resolve the issue.
Check Display Driver
Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters.
Right-click your display adapter (e.g., AMD Radeon Graphics) and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
If no update is found, visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your product name: HP 15s-eq1000.
- Download and install the latest graphics driver and chipset driver for Windows 11.
Reinstall Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (if needed)
If the brightness slider is still missing:
- In Device Manager, right-click your display adapter and choose Uninstall device.
- Check the box for Delete the driver software for this device, then click Uninstall.
- Restart your PC. Windows should reinstall the default display driver.
- Then, reinstall the correct driver from HP website as mentioned above.
Enable Generic PnP Monitor
- In Device Manager, expand Monitors.
- If Generic PnP Monitor is disabled, right-click and choose Enable device.
Check Windows Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Locate Display Enhancement Service and Monitor Service.
- Make sure both are Running and set to Automatic.
Use HP Hotkey Support
- Download and install the HP Hotkey Support or HP Quick Launch Buttons utility from the HP Drivers page.
- Restart your laptop and test the brightness keys (usually Fn + F2/F3).
Additional Tips
- Make sure Windows is fully updated: Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all available updates.
- You can also try adjusting brightness via Settings > System > Display or using the Windows Mobility Center (Windows + X > Mobility Center).
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
