Hi @Witchbabe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Great question! Where your scanned documents go depends on how you scanned them and which method you used. Here’s a quick guide:

If You Used the HP Smart App

  • By default, scanned files are saved in your Documents > HP Smart folder.
  • You can check or change this in HP Smart > Settings > Scan Settings > Save Location.
  • You can also choose to Save as PDF/JPEG, Email, or Cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive) during the scan.

If You Used the Printer’s Control Panel (Scan to Computer)

  • The file usually goes to your default Pictures or Documents folder on your computer.
  • On Windows: C:\Users\<YourName>\Documents\Scanned Documents
  • On macOS: Pictures > Scans or Documents.

If You Used “Scan to Email” or “Scan to Network Folder”

  • The document is sent to the email address or network folder you configured in the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS).

How to Find It Quickly

  • On Windows: Press Win + S, type the file name (e.g., Scan), or search for .pdf or .jpg in Documents.
  • On Mac: Use Spotlight Search (Cmd + Space) and type Scan.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
