I got a 601 error message on startup so as instructed, I want to install the latest BIOS driver to my laptop. The laptop is 64 bit pavilion gaming 15 and I have the Windows 10 22H2 OS installed. However I'm not sure whether the BIOS F.35 Rev.A version supports this OS as it is not explicitly listed. Is it ok to install this BIOS version to my laptop?

@MK20021, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding BIOS version!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I recommend checking the HP support website for your specific Pavilion Gaming 15 model to ensure compatibility between the BIOS version and your installed Windows OS. BIOS updates are typically intended to improve compatibility, performance, and security, but it's crucial to verify the specific support for your model and OS version. Additionally, since you are encountering a 601 error, it is important to review any release notes associated with the BIOS version F.35 Rev.A for any mentions of this error or compatibility improvements.

If the BIOS update section for your model on the HP support site lists F.35 Rev.A as the latest compatible version for Windows 10 22H2, then it should be safe to proceed with the installation. However, keep in mind that improper BIOS updates can lead to system instability.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
