Hi @Nkosihlazo,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Chrome on your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

If your HP laptop running Chrome OS (Chromebook) is not powering on, it may not be related to an "expiration" but could be due to a hardware or software issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the power issue:

Check the Power Source

  1. Power Connection: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and a working electrical outlet.
  2. Battery Charge: If the laptop's battery is removable, take it out and reinstall it to ensure it is connected properly.
  3. Try a Different Outlet: Plug the charger into another power outlet to verify that the issue is not with the socket.

Perform a Hard Reset

Some laptops have reset methods that can resolve power-on issues:

  1. Unplug the Power Adapter and then remove the battery if it is removable.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds. This can help discharge any residual power.
  3. Reconnect the battery, plug in the power adapter, and attempt to turn the laptop on again.

Inspect for Damage

  • Check all cables and ports for any signs of physical damage.
  • Ensure that the charging port is clear of dust and debris.

Check for Indicator Lights or Sounds

  • Power LED: See if the power indicator light on the laptop or battery is lit when the charger is connected.
  • Sounds: Listen for fan noise or any beeping sounds that may indicate attempts to start.

Attempt Recovery or Restore

If the laptop powers on but doesn’t load the operating system, you might need to perform a system recovery or hard reset through recovery options.

I hope this helps.
