Thanks Paul  ...   That solved my problem ... One computer down ... still now have eight more to go.

However, As I think I indicated, I am a Volunteer working for a not-for-profit that now has a total of nine (9 !) HP 655 G2 Probooks that they want Windows 7 Pro installed on.    Starting on the second one this afternoon, and find another eleven drivers missing and after installing a couple of them, note that there are different unnamed drivers on this second one than were on the first.    Big Problem for me !!    Ha !

Makes me think that I am going about this the wrong way .. I had hoped for a Windows 7 Pro installation pack from HP, but so far have not come up with one .. I am using a Microsoft Windows 7 Pro SP1 license, but can't help but wonder how to get around this.

Can you offer any suggestion ?    Thanks very much for your help ... HP Tech Support in India has not been much good with this ...

Hi, Jack:

You don't like the headaches?  That's half the fun.   LOL!

Yes, I believe that HP has a driver pack solution, but I have never used it, so I don't know how it works.

On the link below are the 64 bit drivers for most of the current HP business products.

I see the 655 G2 listed...the package is on the far right of the matrix for W7

Paul .. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your help.  That did the trick ... I started on this one (Computer#2) with eleven drivers again, but this time they were all virtually unnamed !   That driver pack from HP fixed all but two of them !  I'm running updates now ... takes half the night, but I'm gonna complete this one too ... Thanks to you !  I've got the drivers and that driver package now on a CD which will run on these computers even without Ethernet or USB or WLAN drivers ... and I'm gonna get this done.    At this point, it  Looks like I'm going to have drivers that I can't identify, but that list will be more limited and with the Hardware ID's I know that you will help.

Off line I'd be glad to tell you more about my Not-for-Profit, but in the meantime, know that you are helping a good Organization, and a very good cause.

Thank you very much.   I couldn't have done this with out you ... and I now I even think that (with your continued help) that I can get this project done.   My wife Carole says that im much happier when I have a project .. Ha !!

Thanks again ... I'll be back in touch.

ps:   Would you like for me to start a new thread, as I go forward or continue with this one ..

Anytime.

Glad to be of assistance.

You may as well just continue on this discussion, and post the hardware ID's you need the drivers for.

OK ... To continue this process:

Computer #3 will not boot the startup/bootable disc with the new Windows 7 Pro SP1 operating system on it.    I have tried everything in the BIOS  designating the startup disk on the CD/DVD drive that I can think of ...

I get a message that says:

" Selected Boot Image did not authenticate.

Please press enter to attempt boot to next device."

When I do that it boots the Windows 10 operating system on the internal HD.

I created these installation disks from ISO's burned to disc, and have several of them which will all boot on other computers.   Just as a Remnder that these are HP 655 G2 Probook newly refurbished from HP, although they appear to be brand new computers.

Any ideas ...

Hi, Jack:

Did you go into the BIOS, and enable legacy mode and disable secure boot?

Then you select the internal DVD drive from the list of bootable devices, not the UEFI DVD drive.

Thanks Paul ... I'm still Having trouble getting anything to work, and I just figured out that my fourth computer is doing the same thing.

In the Bios, and Under the Advanced tab, I have selected Secure Boot Options, and then have Legacy Support Disabled and Secure Boot enabled, and there are then four options and I currently have each of them unchecked.

Then going to the Boot Options menu, I unchecked Fast Boot, checked CD-ROM Boot, and USB Storage and then go to the Main Menu and click yes under Save Changes ...

When I reboot, I still am getting the same message ...or the computer boots straight into Windows 10.

I'm doing something wrong ...

Hi:

You have to have Legacy Support Enabled, and Secure Boot Disabled in order to install W7.
