Hi, Jack:
Here is the driver you need for the PCI Device...
The Realtek USB and PCIe Media Card Reader Drivers enable the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models running a supported operating system.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75001-75500/sp75104.exe
You just have to google the hardware ID.
I don't have to do that anymore, because I have helped thousands of forum members find drivers, and have unintentionally committed 95% of them to memory.

Ha ! But when I google the Hardware ID, all I see is a bunch of gobble-de-**bleep** that makes no sense at all to me. In addition, I already had that last one, saved to a flashdrive, and in an index as well listed as PCI Device, and still missed it.
You're probably just a whole lot smarter than I am, although it hurts to admit it. Ha ! My excuse is that I am now in my 79th year .. can't remember anything !!
Thanks again Paul. That does it for the first four. They tell me that the next five have arrived, and so I'll pick them up in a day or so ...
Keeping my fingers crossed.

PS: Why in the heck can't HP make this simpler ... Doesn't seem like it would be much of a big deal, since they have all the information.

Anytime, Jim.
I would say that I have more experience with this kind of thing.
That doesn't make me smarter.
HP probably wants customers to leave the factory installed operating systems on the PC's.
I just hope that if I live to be 79, that I'm still going strong like you!

Hi Paul ..
The PCI Device: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1577&SUBSYS_15771022&REV_00
Seems to me to be the AMD IOMMU Device that requires the W764A driver package, but this time I am unable to get it to install ...
It has worked on at least one other laptop ...
Any ideas?

Hi, Jack:
You're doing good! You identified the device that needs the driver.
I have repeated my other post below, and that is the only suggestion I can offer...if it worked for the other PC's it should work for all of them.
I pulled the AMD IOMMU Device driver out of the graphics driver file package, zipped it up and attached it below.
Download and unzip the file to its folder. Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager and click on the unknown 1577 device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.
Then restart the PC.

Thanks Paul ... I printed your very clear instructions and followed them carefully, attempting to do exactly what I had done on one other computer, but ALAS ! No Joy ! It just wouldn't recognize the driver and do the update/install.
I looked around and found a WinZip Driver Updater, which offered one free driver update, and so I ran it and Walla !! It worked !! They want $29.95 for the Updater for any future installs and its not clear to me if I can run it on other machines, but at least it worked on this one PCI Device. I haven't a clue why I couldn't do it otherwise. Computer #5 ready to go !!
Anyway, thanks for your help.
I've now got another ... #6, which I think I screwed up myself. I was doing an install of W7 Pro SP1 which was running fine and I stopped it midstream for some stupid reason that I can't even remember, and now nothing will boot ... None of the bootable discs from any drives and the computer only goes into repair mode and will not fix itself. I'll probably have to take it in, or put a new HD in it, or send it back ... Under warranty.
Anyway ... Thanks again for all your help. I'll surely need more before I'm through!
Jack

Ok ...
Well, you have been so helpful ...
I've got two more drivers that I need for the HP Probook 655 G2 Laptop
PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4359&SUBSYS_8088103C&REV_00 Network Controller
and also
PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_1577&SUBSYS_15771022&REV_00 PCI Device
I wish I knew how you guys do this ...
Thanks ... Jack Morgan
