HP Probook 6460b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello

I'd like to get a link to restore disk with Windows 7Pro 64bit pl. I've only found recovery on https://restore.solutions but it's costs almost 20euro. I've already paid for Windows when I bought notebook and in boot menu there is no system restore so the only way is to get new restore DVD. There was no recovery DVD in box when I bought notebook.

Hello @Marcin_G,

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

No free recovery media is available for your model in the places I am aware of. HP does provide an option to create recovery media for most computers and Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10 all have free options to create system recovery images. If you do not have your own recovery media, if such was never created, you will need to pay small fee to obtain the media itself. You are not re-paying Windows license itself, you pay for the media (DVDs or USB device) + the shipping + support options for it.

If you are from North America, you can get original HP Recovery media from here >> http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-19251-win-7-pro-64-bit-recovery-kit-xw463av-for-hp-probook-model-n...

If you are from EU , you need to contact this HP partner >> http://www.best2serve.com/

** There is one another option which is not official and may not work but is free and you could try it if you are willing. It will work only if you have COA sticker attached to the PC and if it is readable. For your model it may be under the battery. Let me know if you are willing to try and I will post instructions.

Hi @margaretpar13

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.

In order to provide you with specific answer tailored to your needs, please let me know this:

  • What is the reason you want to perform recovery or why you need the recovery media ?
  • Is your PC model the Probook, or else ? What is the model and the product number (p/n) ?  You can read this article to learn how to find this information >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

Looking forward to your reply.
