Hi there, I am having an absolutely dreadful experience with a laptop recently bought from the HP store.

The list of problems is literally endless. All i'm told is that I will have to phone,  currently I do not have the time to spend an hour on the phone with someone trying to reproduce issue by issue.

1. I get regular blue screen errors at random (I do have pictures of some of these)

2. The laptop will not play videos after the machine has gone to sleep and then awoken.

3. the Laptop chassis is twisted and does not sit flat on a surface

4. The battery literally lasts 3 hours (11 hours quoted)

5. The trackpad is just plain awful, even using 2 fingers to scroll down a web page it is pure chance if it works or not.

6. The Wifi disconnects at random, constantly.

7. The laptop runs extremely slow even when the battery mode is set to high performance. The laptop constantly hangs on webpages. surfing the web is such a tedious task on this thing.

8. On the few attempts I've tried to play a basic game (counterstrike) it cannot perform well for more than 10 minutes. ( i have tried all web fixes for this, stopping overboost function, bios update etc...

9. The sound stops working after awaking from sleep.

The laptop feels like a prototype, every time I use it crashes, shows errors, runs slowly, it is so clunky and flaky to use. I have sent many emails to HP, they've told me various ways to contact them. Whenever they send me a link to a page, said contact method cannot be found.

I have downloaded all drivers. From HP support assistant or AMD. I have looked at most of the x360 posts on this forum on a night when I have had time away from work.

Please can someone help

Just the twisted chassis can either cause or perhaps impact other issues.  There is no software fix for broken bits.

If you have not done so, you should contact HP Technical Support > submit a case, provide the required information, and ask for help and options.  I might be wrong, I believe that you can request a call back, though you should only request this having submitted your case to make sure you are only talking to the actual HP Support center.  (See the message about scammers near the bottom of this message.)

I am sorry it can take time to wait on the phone - we have all of us waited on the phone for a response center to take our call "in order".  It is frustrating to wait when we are so busy.

Interestingly, you say you have sent emails to to submit a case with HP Support.  It is my understanding that HP Support is not available via email requests.  Not sure what happened there.  Maybe it was not HP Support?

Regardless,

You can also try HP on Facebook (link later in this message).

Talking to HP can provide options that we cannot offer via our simple "post back and forth" method.  HP can also address warranty concerns - something our community cannot do.

Reminders

  • Use the serial number of the device to submit the case (do not post that information on the Community).

  • Chat is not available in every region. In those areas where Chat is an option, Chat service hours are likely restricted.  In the event that Chat is not available in your region:  Call the number provided in the HP directory, else submit your case online (to receive phone contact information)

  • HP will advise you there is a fee for phone support and / or other services when your computer / device is no longer under warranty.  This is normal business practice.

  • HP may tell you that certain services are not covered under warranty.  This is normal business practice.  Standard Warranty typically covers specific hardware issues as explained in the Warranty contract. Care Pack coverage and warranties differ by package.

  • If the HP Contact (phone) number is not immediately provided:  Contact information is displayed on your screen after you submit your case online.

  • HP websites are the only ones allowed to use the HP copyright circle/logo.  Look for the copyright on any website claiming to be HP. If in doubt, scroll to the bottom of the Website to find HP copyright logo.

From HP > CAUTION

Recently, HP has seen an increased number of third-party support websites selling HP driver downloads or diagnostic tools. Many of these websites use the HP trademark symbol and claim to be official HP distributors.

If your product supports your operating system, HP offers your driver and software at no additional cost through the HP website.

Use caution when dealing with any website that asks you to pay for HP driver downloads or tools that claim to diagnose your HP products. These websites might not be affiliated with HP in any way.

Do not install BIOS updates from a motherboard manufacturer's website. Only install BIOS updates from HP. Installing BIOS updates from the motherboard manufacturer can prevent the computer from accepting an HP system recovery. This could result in a loss of data.
