@Iuliana7725, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with an issue where the I2C HID Device isn't working, and the error code (Device cannot start, Error 10) is showing up for your touchpad or mouse. This can often be related to missing or incompatible drivers or a conflict with the hardware.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps and solutions that you can try to resolve the issue:

Update Your Drivers Manually via Device Manager

First, try to manually update the I2C HID Device driver through Device Manager:

Press Win + X and select Device Manager.

Scroll down and find Human Interface Devices.

Right-click on I2C HID Device and select Update driver.

Choose Search automatically for drivers and let Windows search for any available updates.

If it finds a new version of the driver, install it and restart your system.

If this doesn’t work, try the next step.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver

Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver may reset the device and solve the issue.

Open Device Manager again.

Right-click on I2C HID Device under Human Interface Devices.

Select Uninstall device.

Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically attempt to reinstall the drivers upon reboot.

If it doesn’t reinstall automatically, proceed to the next step.

Check HP’s Official Driver Support Page

Go to HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dy0xxx (764A3U8) Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.

Choose Windows 11 and the correct version (Home Version 23H2).

Download and install the touchpad drivers (or any HID-related drivers).

In your case, the Synaptics or Windows Precision drivers might be included with the touchpad drivers.

Check Windows Update for Optional Updates

Open Settings (Win + I).

Go to Update & Security > Windows Update.

Check for Optional Updates under View optional updates.

If there are any driver updates, install them and restart your system.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
