The model may receive updates for Windows 11 25H2 in the future, but for now, you must resolve the issue using Intel drivers.

Hi,

Check this from HP drivers web page, 25H2 is still missing.

As I have already indicated, there are no drivers for 25H2, and it depends on whether HP wants to provide drivers. If they are no longer available, you will have to update your drivers with Windows Update.

It depends on the age of your HP desktop/laptop.  For example, if you are using Probook/Prodesk/Elitedesk computers like the laptop 470 G3-G4, you're not going to be able to update as the CPU will only allow for updates to go to 23H2.  So, pretty much computers that were released between before and during 2017-2019.

With that being said, if you had a new .iso build of the software, then it will let you wipe it and install the new version but I will tell you from experience of testing, trying to install Windows 11 24H2/25H2 on a computer that was not meant to be upgraded offers more problems than its worth.

But if you have a computer that's at or nearing end of life, more than likely it's time to upgrade.

Hello,

Most probably you did not follow previıous messages for this subject. My laptop is 1 year old HP Spectre X360, and already gave information for serial number. It already took from Windows Update 25H2 upgrade. And I have still some display problems, which did start with 24H2, I need an updated Graphic OEM driver, where recent driver from HP is still older then 24H2 (drive dated August 2024).

Hi @kndy

This is not the case for the user, who has a relatively new computer released in January 2024.

But not that's why HP will offer drivers for version 25H2.

@hbegaki

If you wish, you can insist on the driver, but HP will not update it, so if you want, I can give you a driver for a similar model, but in my opinion, look for the driver at Intel, as HP does not currently have it.

@Resistencia, If you will check drivers at HP Support page, drivers are available for 22H2, 23H2 and 24H2. There is no possibility to select 25H2. HP have to give effort to add this page also 25H2 possibility and support for corresponded drivers. Almost all compatiter brands did this before 25H2 release, HP support is to late for this.

Windows 11 drivers can work on any version of Windows, so if an update is not necessary, HP will not provide one.

You can see this recent HP model, select version 25H2, and you will see that the drivers apply to other versions of Windows 11.

Let me be more clear, in your example there is the possibility to select 25H2 operating system where for me there is no possibility to select 25H2 for one year old laptop.

HP can put at least this possibilty also for my machine in HP Support page, even if they would provide drivers same as 24H2.

We have receiving for this laptop an issue, I am saying we because with many other people since 24H2 it is a serial problem, you can check following links :

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/3971082/mouse-cursor-size-issue-on-windows-11-(v...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Windows-24H2-update-pointer-is-very-b...

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/1jk6946/big_cursor_after_shutting_down_everytime/

I am also thinking that is something with the driver incompatibility, issue started with 24H2 for our type of laptop.  There was no problem for 23H2. We are sure that HP did not check for our machine type for the graphic driver, where the driver is older then the date when 24H2 have been launched.

For the time being there is only possiblity to disable fast startup. Because this problem is not hapening by restart , only by startup where fast-startup is enabled.

By fast-startup, when we check the scale and resolution, they are always by recommended value. It is also possible to solve the issue with fast-start enabled start, by changing the scale from recommended value to another and come back again to rcommended, this solve the issue also.

If you have any idea how to solve this problem, please share. Because me and other people with this problem did try almost everything, even clean install of Windows (24H2 and also 25H2).
