Operating System- Windows 10 Home
I have a HP Notebook. The product number is: X3C53PA#ABG
I have recently dropped my laptop, about 1m off the ground. It used to turn off if it was at 40%/45% after I dropped it. So I would keep it on change constantly.
About a day ago now my laptop would be constantly at 25%, not increasing or decreasing, and this would only show if I had it plugged it.
I think I’ve broken the battery, or I hope I’ve just broken the battery and nothing else. I can remove the battery, slide it out from the back, and see the codes and such, should I buy a new battery? OR is there something else wrong?

Hi
I think there is internal damage.

Therefore an opinion from a local repairer would be best. The Battery does not seem to be connected to the Main Board.
If the battery itself does not look damaged then most probably the damage is elsewhere, possibly the Main Board.

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.
Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat
NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).
AND/OR
HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:- http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93457.exe

If in doubt please ask.

Thx for the advise. But when I take out the AC adaptor/charger my laptop stops working/turns off.
And now when I just turned it back on the battery percentage was at 16% and woundnt rise or decrease.
I’ve tried using the “HP PC Hardware Diagnostics” app and when I went to test the battery the result was “CANCELED”. What does this mean and how can I fix it (/would doing this help?)
