Hi @88nazcarfan,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Stream!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset
Turn Off the Laptop:
- Disconnect any external devices.
- Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds to ensure the laptop is completely off.
Remove Power Sources:
- Disconnect the AC power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for an additional 10 seconds to drain any residual power.
Reconnect Power:
- Reconnect the AC adapter.
- Press the power button to turn on the laptop.
Access Advanced Startup Options
Restart the PC:
- Immediately after pressing the power button, repeatedly press the F11 key to access Advanced Startup Options.
Select Troubleshoot:
- Choose Troubleshoot from the options presented.
Select Reset Options:
- From the Troubleshoot menu, select Reset this PC.
- Choose Keep my files or Remove everything based on your preference.
Use Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
Access WinRE:
- If F11 does not work, restart the PC three times. On the third attempt, Windows should boot into WinRE.
Select Advanced Options:
- In WinRE, select Advanced options.
Use System Restore:
- Choose System Restore to rollback to a previous point where the system was functioning correctly.
Clean Installation via USB Recovery Drive
Create a Windows 10 USB Installation Drive:
- You can create a bootable USB drive using another computer:
- Download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from the Microsoft website.
- Insert a USB drive (at least 8GB).
- Follow the prompts to create a bootable installation drive.
Boot from USB:
- Insert the USB drive into the HP Stream 14-cb011wm.
- Power on the laptop and press the Esc key repeatedly to access the Boot Menu.
- Select Boot Device Options and choose the USB drive.
Install Windows 10:
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install Windows 10.
- During installation, choose Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) if you want a clean installation.
Ensure Sufficient Storage Space
The factory reset may fail if there's insufficient storage space.
Remove Unnecessary Files (if accessible):
- Delete unnecessary files if you can access Windows.
Cloud Storage:
- Use OneDrive or alternative cloud storage services to free up local storage.
I hope this helps.
