Hi @Eduleon,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the errors you're encountering in the Windows Event Viewer related to the Intel Processor Identification Utility and the ESIF (Energy Service Interface Framework) can be quite frustrating. Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve these issues:
1.Reinstall the Intel Processor Identification Utility
If correcting the XML syntax doesn't resolve the issue, try reinstalling the Intel Processor Identification Utility:
Uninstall the Utility:
- Go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features.
- Find the Intel Processor Identification Utility and uninstall it.
Download the Latest Version:
- Visit the Intel Download Center and search for the Intel Processor Identification Utility.
- Download and install the latest version.
Check HP Support Assistant:
- Open the HP Support Assistant and ensure all updates are applied, especially for firmware and thermal management.
2. Reinstall Intel DPTF:
- If the issue persists, you may need to reinstall the Intel DPTF drivers. You can uninstall them from Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
- Expand the System devices section.
- Find Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework and uninstall it.
- Restart your computer and reinstall the drivers using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant or from the HP website.
3. Check Event Viewer After Steps
After performing the steps above, check the Event Viewer to see if the errors persist:
Open Event Viewer:
- Press Windows + X and select Event Viewer.
Navigate to the Error Logs:
- Go to Windows Logs -> Application and Windows Logs -> System.
Look for Recurring Errors:
- See if the specific errors related to ProcID.exe and ESIF are still occurring.
4.System Restore: If the issue started recently, consider performing a system restore to a point before the problem began.
BIOS Update: Ensure your BIOS is up to date. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve underlying issues.
