EliteBook 8460P
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I purchased a EliteBook 8460P at auction and was going to wipe it and do a clean Windows install.  While trying to get into the BIOS to reset everything to defaults I am presented with a BIOS Administrator password prompt.  How do I get rid of this and reset everything to factory default?  The Product is XU057UT#ABA.  Thank you in advance.

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP quit supplying the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That is the only way it could be done.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with providing unlock codes, etc., to clear BIOS passwords. Rule 4.d...
