Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, after recent BIOS update something went wrong. New Bios is present but Windows loads ca 2 minutes and microphone is not present. I discover that Intel Firmware ME mode is Recovery one. Whenever I choose to repeat updating BIOS it disovers that there is no need to update BIOS but INTEL ME is older so update is recommended. I choose Yes and after restart it says "Intel ME corruption detected". I am not able to downgrade BIOS even the permission to downgrade is BIOS is selected. Tried Win+B, Win+V, B, V, no effect. Platform T76.

Hello,
Good day. Thank you for reaching out to the Hp community. I would be delighted to assist you. Superb description and terrific troubleshooting. Kudos to you for that.

It seems you are experiencing an issue with Intel Management Engine (ME) firmware corruption after a BIOS update. Here’s what you can try to resolve the problem:

Steps to Address Intel ME Firmware Corruption

  1. Check for Latest Firmware Updates: First, ensure you have the latest Intel ME firmware update. Visit the official HP support website and search for your specific device model to download and install the latest Intel ME firmware.

  2. Perform a Power Drain: Disconnect the power cable and remove the battery (if applicable). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the power and battery, and start the device again.

  3. BIOS Recovery: Some HP systems have a BIOS recovery feature.

    • Restart your PC and continually press the ESC key to display the Startup Menu.
    • Select the option to access BIOS Setup (usually F10).
    • Within BIOS, check if there's an option for BIOS recovery or roll back to a previous version. Follow on-screen instructions if available.
  4. Re-flashing the BIOS: If recovery options are not available, you may need to re-flash the BIOS using a USB key.

    • Create a bootable USB drive with the latest BIOS firmware for your HP model.
    • Boot from the USB drive and follow the provided instructions to re-flash the BIOS.
  5. Contact Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be time to contact HP Support for further assistance. They might have specific tools or procedures tailored for resolving Intel ME firmware issues.

Always make sure you are downloading firmware from official and trusted sources to avoid further issues. Properly follow any instructions included with firmware updates to minimize risk of corruption or failure.
