Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all!

My problem is that after upgrading to Windows 11, I can't enable "Secure Boot" in the BIOS settings. The instructions on the Internet say that this is only possible on the GPT disk and with the CSM function turned off. But my disk is running in GPT mode (GUID Partition Table), the CSM function is not in the BIOS at all, and I don't know what to do anymore. The line "Secure Boot" in my BIOS is gray and is inactive with the inscription "Disabled".

Previously, I used Windows 10 and the programs that I need now, after upgrading to Windows 11, stopped running and require me to enable Secure Boot. What can be done about it? I hope for help, thanks.

Hi:

See if this works...

Step 1. Go into the BIOS and Load HP Factory Default Keys and see if Secure Boot becomes available.

(System Configuration>Boot Options>Load HP Factory Default Keys

Step 2. If it does not, then go into the operating system and disable “Fast startup”

(Disable the Fast Startup option from Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do> Change settings that are currently unavailable > uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended) and save.

Step 3. go back into your BIOS and try Load HP Factory Default Keys.

Step 4. enable Secure Boot at this point.

Hello! I have the same problem with the secure boot option grayed out, and I want to enable secure boot. Can you explain me if there is a risk if I Load HP Factory Default Keys? Or can you tell me what exactly means this option "Load HP Factory Default Keys"? I have been searching the internet about this for two days and I cannot find an answer. Thank you!

Hi:

I don't think that there is a risk, because this post is where I got part of the answer from...didn't seem to cause that person any problems.
