Hi @TakuDavison,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is displaying an "endpoint security problem" message on every startup, it could be related to your antivirus or security software. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Update your antivirus software: Make sure your antivirus program is up to date. Visit the official website of your antivirus software and download the latest updates. Sometimes, outdated antivirus software can cause compatibility issues with the operating system.
- Reinstall the security software: If updating the antivirus software doesn't resolve the issue, try reinstalling it. Uninstall the existing security software from your laptop, restart the computer, and then reinstall the software using the latest version available.
- Check for conflicting software: Verify if any other security or antivirus software is installed on your laptop. Having multiple security programs running simultaneously can cause conflicts and lead to error messages. Uninstall any other security software you find to ensure there is no interference.
- Run a system scan: Perform a thorough system scan with your antivirus software to check for any malware or viruses that might be causing the endpoint security problem. Remove any threats detected during the scan.
- Check startup programs: Sometimes, certain applications or processes running during startup can trigger security alerts. To troubleshoot this, open the Task Manager (press Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and navigate to the Startup tab. Disable any unnecessary or suspicious applications from the list.
- Update your operating system: Make sure your HP laptop's operating system is up to date. Install any pending Windows updates as they often include bug fixes and security patches that can resolve compatibility issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
