I restarted my HP Pavilion Gaming 15 ak-001-np (ENERGY STAR) because it was running very slow. I didn't do it in any special/ different way. I used the simplest method of all- Windows button> power icon> "Shut Down".
I waited until all lights were off and the fan stopped spinning and then waited a little bit more. Then, I hit the power button to start the computer and well, it didn't start. It went straight to BIOS. I exited and the next screen was a black screen with following the text:
"Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3F0)
F2 System Diagnostics
For more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup"
I visited and found the following troubleshooting page: https://support.hp.com/pt-pt/document/c06206390 (I am Portuguese)
I followed the steps. I hit F2 to open System Diagnostics. Then, I performed a Quick Hard Drive Check. It passed, so I followed the next step, which told me to turn off the computer, turn it back on and hit F10 repeatedly to open BIOS, which I did. Then, I was supposed to check if my laptop had Octane Memory, by finding "Intel Rapid Storage Technology".
However, that is not listed anywhere, so I suppose my laptop doesn't have it or it isn't working correctly. The article told me to get in touch with Client Support, so I did that.
What should I do now? Thank you!

This issue is nearly always caused by a failing drive -- so you need to go back into Diagnostics and do the Extensive check.
