Hi @Jaydee94

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the error message—it’s understandably concerning to see a “Boot Device Not Found” (3F0) warning, especially when your HP Victus with Ryzen 7 885HS was working fine before. I appreciate your effort in checking the screen and reaching out.

This error typically means the system isn’t detecting a bootable drive or operating system. Let’s go through a few steps to help isolate and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Run System Diagnostics

  • Power on the laptop and immediately press F2 repeatedly until the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics screen appears.
  • Run the System Test and Hard Drive Test.
  • If the drive is detected and passes, it confirms the hardware is intact.

Step 2: Check BIOS Boot Order

  • Restart the laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Navigate to System Configuration > Boot Options.
  • Ensure the internal SSD is listed as the first boot device.
  • Confirm that UEFI Boot is enabled.

Step 3: Reset BIOS Defaults

  • While in BIOS Setup, press F9 to load default settings.
  • Press F10 to save and exit.
  • This helps if any boot settings were inadvertently changed.

Step 4: Confirm Drive Detection

  • In BIOS, check under Storage or System Information to see if the SSD is listed.
  • If it’s missing, the drive may be loose or not seated properly.

Step 5: Use HP Recovery Media (if available)

  • If the drive is detected but the OS is missing or corrupted, you can reinstall Windows using HP Recovery USB.
  • You can create recovery media using another HP system via the HP Cloud Recovery Tool:
HP Cloud Recovery Tool – Create Recovery USB

Step 6: Check for Loose SSD Connection (if comfortable)

  • If you’re familiar with hardware handling, power off the laptop and check that the SSD is securely connected.
  • Otherwise, this step can be skipped.

These steps will help determine whether the issue is with the boot configuration, the SSD itself, or the operating system. If the diagnostics confirm the drive is healthy, restoring Windows should bring your system back to life.
