I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to request assistance regarding an issue I am experiencing with my HP laptop. Upon booting up, I encountered the following error message:
Error Message:
Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.
The Boot Configuration Data file doesn’t contain valid information for an operating system.
File: \BCD
Error Code: 0xc0000098
I attempted the available options to resolve the issue, including trying to enter the recovery environment (F1) and accessing UEFI Firmware Settings (Esc). Unfortunately, I have been unable to recover or repair the system on my own.
Could you please advise me on how to resolve this issue? I would appreciate any guidance on steps I can take, or whether I need to provide further details about my device for troubleshooting.
Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to hearing from you.

Windows Boot Manager needs to use BCD data during the boot process. If BCD is corrupted, Windows cannot be loaded, generating that error.
You need to repair the boot sector in the Windows Recovery Environment, otherwise you need to reinstall Windows.
Many folks simply choose to reinstall Windows rather than repairing the boot problem. If you want to do the repair, I'll provide step by step instructions which are not any difficult to do. Let us know what you want to do.
15s-du3000 is like a base model number. Your laptop has its own model number. Please provide it.

To fix the boot problem, you need to run command prompt in the Windows Recovery Environment (Win RE) from a Windows installation media.
Use another PC to create a bootable Windows installation usb drive with Microsoft media creation tool from this link.
Connect a Windows installation usb drive to the notebook, start it and immediately tap the F9 key for boot device menu. Select USB Flash drive (or USB Hard drive) and press the Enter key to start the Windows installation.
Click "Repair your computer" instead of "Install now." Click Troubleshoot then Command Prompt. At the X:\sources prompt,
Type diskpart and click Enter.
Type list disk and click Enter.
If it only displays a usb drive with the boot drive missing, the Windows installation media needs to have Intel RST storage controller driver to detect the drive, since your notebook comes with an Intel Core 11th gen processor. Let us know what you find.
