HP 17-bs011dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So my notebook hinge broke with no warning at all. I took it to be fixed and it came back very very slow. I thought restarting it might work out, but the restart only ended with the machine giving me a blue screen with error code 0xc0000185.

I really don't know how a simple broken hinge fix could result in something like that. Please Please Please help me.

The technician is talking about a corrupted harddisk. I'm not ready to lose over 900 gigabytes of data

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is running slow after replacing the hinge.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Is the computer booting to Windows?

Meanwhile, I recommend you run a system test on the computer to make sure whether it is a software or a hardware issue.
