All troubleshooting instructions require me to access device manager and choose the 'camera' -

There is no camera option listed in the device manager.

I understand that you are getting error 0xA00F4244 while launching the camera.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

On the right-hand side of the laptop, you will find the camera privacy switch. Please turn off. As shown below.

Then launch the camera and check.

My HP dv7 laptop was telling me I had no camera (Error Code: 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>). I had been trying to facetime with family members. After watching the YouTube video (link below), I shut down my computer, removed the battery, and followed the instructions. Then put it all back together. The whole process took less than two minutes. Booted up laptop and everything was right as rain. It was a hardware problem; not a software problem. This worked for me and a few others.
