I bought this HP touchscreen laptop about 2 years ago ( Can't get any information as it will not boot up ) it worked fine until a few months ago, it would show either " no operating system found " or " no hard drive found " but after 2 or 3 trys would open, now it will not open or allow diagnostic test . I get error code 9W5L5A-9NDAAK- XD7W36- 60W903. Is the hard drive gone?if I replace it will I need to purchase a new operating system? Please advise .

Hi,

You should be able to find the model or product number written on the actual notebook.

model

yes, you will need to replace the drive. If you have  mechanical drive you could also decide to upgrade to an SSD which would give a godd boost to performance.

You do not need to purchase the OS as the key will be in the firmware and Microsoft will remember the device on its servers. So once installed and conected to internet it will activate.

You can create a bootavle pendrive on a different PC by downloading the media creation tool

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

or

HP cloud recovery tool

Hope it helps,

David

Thank you, that's the problem, there is no model number or anything on the notepad , I'll do more investigation and see if it's just were I'm not seeing it, but thank you for letting me know I won't need to buy the operating system .
