Error during reset

My HP Envy x360 laptop was acting up and after attempts to correct decided to reset computer to factory.  Was unable to get to F11 recovery so had to perform recovery from within Windows.  It went through the extensive process and during the  final portion of reset it went to error stating it could not find registry.  I tried booting from my recovery thumb drive I had created and still returns to that screen.  It indicated several options and each one just returned to error screen.  I can get to actual device info and configuration, I just cannot get to Windows.  Is there another recovery method or external device I can use to restore the Windows that came with my computer?

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
