@BrianEC1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding an error message!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
This error usually occurs when a system file, specifically AppXDeploymentExtensions.onecore.dll, is missing or corrupted. It can cause issues with the Windows Store apps and may lead to the screen blinking. Here are some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue:
Boot into Safe Mode
Since the screen is blinking, you may need to boot into Safe Mode:
- Restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly before Windows loads.
- Select Safe Mode with Networking.
If F8 doesn't work:
- Hold the Shift key and click Restart from the Start menu.
- Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and enable Safe Mode.
Perform a Clean Boot
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
- Go to the Services tab and check Hide all Microsoft services.
- Click Disable all, then go to Startup > Open Task Manager.
- Disable unnecessary startup items and restart your laptop.
Update Windows
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any pending updates.
Let me know how it goes!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
