HP NOTEBOOK 15-AC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • I recently ordered the HP RECOVERY MEDIA toolkit from HP.
  • I received a total of 4 DVDs including one DVD for Application Software and Driver Installation and the the other three DVD for OS and Software Installation.
  • While booting from the first DVD (i.e. 1 of 3), I am finding an error "0XFFEE018" which is followed by an "OK"  option.
  • When I click on the "OK" option, the system restarts and boots from the "OS (i.e., WINDOWS 10 )".
  • I want to have my genuine windows on my laptop, so I ordered the Recovery Media and I am unable to run it as stated above with the error popping up every time I try to boot the system from the RECOVERY MEDIA.
  • I would like to request the community to look for the issue and send me a solution as soon as possible.
  • I have attached a copy of the error pop up window while running the Recovery Media DVD, for better assistance and solution to my problem from HP Community.fa699943-1cce-43db-bb57-3de9eb0d1507.jfif

Hi:

You can clean install W10 by making a bootable USB installation flash drive using the Media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

The W10 installation using this method results in W10 being genuine.

I know how to install a clean windows 10.....but installing that way wont activate my windows. Moreover, I want to install the genuine windows which I got at the time of purchase, hence I ordered the recovery media and now I am finding an error at the time of running the Recovery Media DVD 1.

Kindly suggest me a way to run the Recovery Media DVD without an error. In short tell me how to overcome that error.

The error code is 0XFFEE018. I had attached the  screenshot of the error in my previous message.

Installing W10 using the media creation tool will activate Windows.

I have done it on my PC's dozens of times and never had an issue.

This is a peer to peer forum.  I do not work for or represent HP.

If there was a way that I could help you, I would.   But usually if the recovery media doesn't work, it doesn't work.

There is no way to get the media to work that I know of.

I suggest that you contact HP in India for help, or to get a refund for the non-working recovery media.
