Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Every time I try to download a file onto my computer, it will say "Failed- Failed virus scan". I have clicked "more details" options which have lead me to changing security settings with downloads. I tried changing to the recommended settings, restarted and updated my laptop. Nothing has worked so far.

My guess is that you are using the new MS Edge browser -- and it is INFAMOUS for flagging nearly everything as a virus.

You should install a different browser, like FireFox, Opera, or Chrome, and see if that works better.

Thank you for responding! Surprisingly I use Google Chrome. The "Failed- Failed virus scan" pops up on both Chrome and Microsoft Edge. I checked into all of my security settings to see what is blocking.

OK, then it is probably Windows Defender claiming the file is malware -- which happens so much that I have gone to great lengths to disable it and replace it with a different AV product.

This is a very complicated process -- because MS does not want you to do this -- and we don't have instructions for it.  So, you will have to do online searches for disabling Windows Defender.
