yesterday I bought X360 CT0077TU, Currently, only one software I installed that is google chrome.
System extremely slow, even not able to run multiple browsers.
Generally, the task manager show 80-90% of memory consume even not install any application, some time Dist space 100% and CPU very from 4-60% without running any application.
Can anyone suggest what I do because I am planning to install visual studio 2017 and in this scenario laptop never wake up after VS like heavy software installation.

Hello @Ashutoshmanshu
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
This is a great PC and you have made an excellent choice. What you experience is something I see often and is usually caused by Windows 10 and the way it is. Your PC is probably trying to update itself now because of the way it is designed. Here is some reading >> http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/even-when-told-not-to-windows-10-just-cant-sto...
Windows 10 is updating itself automatically and the process is usually somewhat slow. Combined with some preinstalled apps, security apps, etc, it may cause slowness until all sorts out.
You have 2 general options:
OPTION 1
- reinstall Windows 10 from scratch - clean vanilla Windows 10 >> here are instructions >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/EliteBook-very-slower-after-dri...
- adjust Windows 10 settings and ensure Windows is updated
OPTION 2
- adjust Windows 10 settings now
- update it now
- try to disable/remove some preinstalled apps
Option 2 may be the faster one for short term but Option 1 may be the better in long run.
If you want, let's try first with Option (2)
0. Update Windows 10 and wait until all updates are installed. Restart eventually.
1. Disable automatic Windows 10 updates via one of these small programs
>> https://greatis.com/blog/thanks-stopupdates10
>> http://greatis.com/blog/stopupdates10
or
>> https://www.novirusthanks.org/products/win-update-stop/
2. Stop Windows 10 "telemetry" by running this app (only default settings/options) >> https://github.com/Nummer/Destroy-Windows-10-Spying/releases/download/2.2.2.2/DWS.exe
3. Please, share a log file so that I see what starts along with your PC and guide you what you may disable or uninstall
Download Autoruns (from Microsoft) from this URL => http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe
Information about the product => http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
- Save the file on your Desktop
- Run Microsoft Autoruns with Administrator rights (right click -> Run as Administrator).
Agree with the standard license agreement from Microsoft.
- Once Autoruns is started, it will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.
Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.
- Click on Options
Make sure that only the following are selected:
- Hide Empty Locations
- Hide Windows Entries
- Click on Rescan button or click on File -> Refresh to rescan the system.
It will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.
Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.
- Finally, click on File -> Save
Save the snapshot on the desktop in .TXT file
Open the newly created TXT log file.
Mark and Select all of the text (e.g. CTR+A), copy it and
visit http://pastebin.com/ to paste it there
Create new paste and give me the URL to see the log file.
Looking forward to your reply.

I tried both option one by one. Now it's better than before but not even, not the situation that I can work freely on this.
One more issue I am facing that I forget to mention in Query.
Wifi network frequently disconnect. firstly its connect then after few minutes show that wifi signal does not present or slowly down signal and after that show No internet.
Note:- my other device work and show full signal.
When I start window diagnosis, it shows "default gateway is not available" and windows itself fixed it,
but again disconnect after few minutes.

Hello @Ashutoshmanshu
Thank you for your reply. I think you partically followed Option 2 without reinstalling Windows (steps 1 and 2) but I am afraid you did not follow all the steps including the Autoruns log file. There are some app on your PC which might also be disabled to improve the situation further.
With regards to Wi-Fi troubleshooting, HP has an article which you can follow and it covers most situations -> http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=wirelessconnection.net§ion=ccweb&sfs=tdoc&lc=en&language...
- If you want to skip it all, have you considered completely reinstalling Windows and making clean "vanilla" installation ? This is OPTION 1 mentioned in my intial reply to you >> http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=wirelessconnection.net§ion=ccweb&sfs=tdoc&lc=en&language...

One of the problems disconnect wifi every few minutes said (default gateway) is solved.
I read an article for the same problem over the internet and find below solution and its work for me.
Basically that issue due to pre-install McAfee antivirus.
once I uninstall all part belong to McAfee and disable fast boot and restart, and my wifi disconnect problem solve.
meanwhile uninstalling McAfee improve little bit speed but still, I can use brand new laptop due to hanging.
below is a screenshot of the task manager.
and my system configuration
Is 4GB ram is not enough to work?
is this problem solve if I increase RAM?
Can I extend RAM in this laptop??

I am not sure if you disabled Windows updates - it is not 100% clear to me. This was initially suggested above. Don't do it now if you haven't done it already. With a Win10 PC, you're going to experience a variety of problems not typical of the older non-Windows 10 PCs.
- Slowness - Windows 10 automatic updates
- Fan noise - that's directly related to fan speed, processor heat, and Windows Update
- Higher disk usage - Windows Defender scanning and Windows Update
Third party article - what is all wrong with Windows 10 >> http://itvision.altervista.org/why-windows-10-sucks.html#TheEND
The screenshot shows that Google Chrome takes up lots of RAM (memory), and disk usage is caused by Windows built-in antivirus Windows Defender.
I suggest you do the following to improve even further now:
1. Do not use your PC for any extra tasks
2. Make sure Windows 10 is fully updated - go to Start -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows update and make sure you push it to update
3. Install all missing updates, restart the PC and repeat again until you see clear message that no further updates are available
4. Now you can disable Windows 10 updates by using the application suggested above
5. Download and run a tool called DWS - it can stop some Windows services such as Windows Defender, OneDrive, Windows Update... It can delete some Metro apps and can also disable most Windows 10 Telemetry settings. You can download it from here:
>> https://github.com/Nummer/Destroy-Windows-10-Spying/releases/download/2.2.2.2/DWS.exe
Once you run it, enable Professional mode, review the settings, run it , restart the PC eventually and hopefully this will improve even further
6. I recommend you do not use Windows Defender for your antivirus if it causes you issues. Instead, you can use some other free apps such as Panda Dome free cloud antivirus - it is very small, cloud based protection and efficent , light product
>> https://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/solutions/free-antivirus/
It will only require one time registration - name, email, address, nothing else
4 GB RAM is usually enough for home users. You can decide to upgrade at some time later - it all depends on your needs.
